Join us at Vincenzo's for this week's meeting
President's Pen
I'm late in writing this, but there's enough going on that even if you do make it to Rotary tonight, I might not get through all these announcements!

Update on Urkraine
If you weren't at the social last week, did you catch the piece the KETV did on our District's Rotary efforts on shipping to the Urkraine? Check out this link to see it.

Disaster Donations
Our District is up to $77,000 in donations to the Rotary's disaster fund, which we are also using for the Ukraine project. You can still donate to the Disaster Fund - use the button below.

Our 5th Tuesday event at Stout was amazing.  I'll have pictures and maybe even a video at the meeting or on Facebook soon.  Don't miss the next one coming up in May!

District Conference: Please make sure that you have on your calendar right now to attend the unwinder prior to the District Conference at 4 PM at Full Fledge Brewery in Council Bluffs.  The Rotary Band including Mark Sanford will be playing and will be open to the public.  Make sure to block out July 8 & 9 too.  Or if you can't make that, plan on Saturday dinner - with it being Carol's conference, you know it will be a blast.

I had the chance to speak at RYLA on Friday. This was an amazing group of kids that we are able to support. Thank you for the club voting to support RYLA again this year. This year, I'll be a speaker at the event on Friday night - I've never actually attended before, so I'll have more information how just how much this impacts students.

Thank you to Darcy Michalek and Bill Thoms for taking Rotary's Diversity, Equity and Inclusion training. I hope we will have a program on this soon. If anyone else is interested in Professional Development training, please let me know.

We are having a club assembly meeting on May 3rd to confirm new committee chairs, budget and project for the upcoming year. Please plan on attending this meeting or let me know if you can attend through Zoom if you can't be there in person. (If you don't attend, you might get elected to something.! Dennis has some important goals he wants to discuss with the club.

It's 4:30, and I need to leave for Rotary soon - I hope I'll see you there. If not, catch you soon!

Question of the Week
Who are you going to invite to an upcoming Rotary meeting?

Weekly Meeting - April 5 2022
Our speaker on April 5th will be Art Zygielbaum.  Art and his wife Chris were recent dinner guests and I found out that while both of them worked at NASA, Art has an even better story to tell about his family. That's all the teaser your going to get - you'll have to come to hear the rest!
Art is a member of Lincoln 14 Rotary and also a Associate Professor Emeritus at UNL.
Weekly Meeting - April 19
Ginny Gohr's son and Omaha fire fighter will be our speaker tonight
Rotary's Commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

Are we doing all that we can to make sure our club is welcoming to everyone, treating everyone with dignity and respect and allowing all voices to be heard?  That's part of Rotary's commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.  We may be a small club, but that means this is even more important that we are aware of all aspects of what this really means.  It's not just about the things we can see, but also about the things we can't see.

This is a leadership training opportunity - and will benefit not only you as a Rotarian, but will benefit the company you work for.  For more details continue reading.
