We ended up not having a meeting on Nov 3 - a number of things worked against us, and in any case Vincenzo's had a big party that needed the room that night anyway. But that along with the latest COVID news got me thinking about upcoming meetings - is this really a good time for in-person meetings?
We lost a Rotarian from the Council Bluffs Centennial club to COVID last week, and his death has made me really re-consider my activities. Even though we are a small enough group that could still meet, I think the safer thing to do right now is to go virtual for the meetings in November and December - and at least the first week in January.
I just spoke to Darcy and we will be cancelling the Holiday Party this year. We'll make the meeting on the 15th a virtual party instead.
I appreciate that 11 out of our 15 members took the time to respond to the survey. About half the club said to meet in person and a bit more than half said they'd be there on Zoom. So I know at least some of you will approve of this decision, and I hope the rest of you will be OK with it. But no matter which way we meet, keep Tuesday evenings open and
⌚Make sure you make time for Rotary!
P.S. Rotary actually is a brand of watch
We still have some great speakers coming up and I will be adding more for January.
