This week's meeting will start meeting via Zoom only for a while-- there will not be a meeting at Vincenzo's.
To meet or not to meet - that is the question
We ended up not having a meeting on Nov 3 - a number of things worked against us, and in any case Vincenzo's had a big party that needed the room that night anyway.  But that along with the latest COVID news got me thinking about upcoming meetings - is this really a good time for in-person meetings?

We lost a Rotarian from the Council Bluffs Centennial club to COVID last week, and his death has made me really re-consider my activities.  Even though we are a small enough group that could still meet, I think the safer thing to do right now is to go virtual for the meetings in November and December - and at least the first week in January.

I just spoke to Darcy and we will be cancelling the Holiday Party this year.  We'll make the meeting on the 15th a virtual party instead.

I appreciate that 11 out of our 15 members took the time to respond to the survey.  About half the club said to meet in person and a bit more than half said they'd be there on Zoom. So I know at least some of you will approve of this decision, and I hope the rest of you will be OK with it. But no matter which way we meet, keep Tuesday evenings open and
Make sure you make time for Rotary!

P.S. Rotary actually is a brand of watch

We still have some great speakers coming up and I will be adding more for January.
Service Project: Project Wee Care
We will be adopting a family through Project Wee Care again this year.   And just like us, they are having to adjust their giving model- this year, they are only accepting cash donations.  You can use the link below and send your donation to Erin using PayPal.

Question of the Week
If you could have an extra hour of free time everyday, how would you use it?

Weekly Program - Nov 17 - Climate Change
Meeting will be via Zoom - there will be no in-person meeting this week.

Our program on Nov 17th will be Tracy Stanko from the Citizens' Climate Education group to talk about Climate Change on how it is impacting Nebraska and what you can do to help.  [CCE is a non-partisan organization, so the focus is on respectful conversation and citizen cooperation. (Just like Rotary!)]

Weekly Program - Dec 1 US Senior Open Championship
The 41st US Senior Open Championship will be coming to Omaha Country Club in July 2021.  Colleen Fink will be coming to our club on Dec 1 to talk about tickets, hospitality packages and volunteer opportunities associated with the event.  This was last held in Omaha in 2013 and was a great success, and Omaha Country Club is excited to bring it back for next year.
